Session will open by establishing the significant role the WordPress community currently plays within Nepal’s broader IT landscape. It will highlight how this vibrant group of developers, designers, business owners, bloggers, and enthusiasts contributes to the growth and accessibility in Nepal. The presentation will showcase the community’s existing strengths, such as knowledge sharing through meetups and online forums, collaborative projects, and the provision of local expertise and support. It will emphasize the tangible impact of these community-driven initiatives on Nepali businesses, individuals, and the overall digital ecosystem, demonstrating how WordPress, fueled by its local community, empowers innovation and digital literacy across the nation.
The second part of the keynote will delve into the specific challenges the Nepali WordPress community faces, including infrastructure limitations, the need for more localized resources and Nepali language support, and the importance of fostering greater participation and contribution. Building upon these challenges, the presentation will then outline a potential roadmap for the future. This roadmap will focus on strategies to strengthen community engagement, promote skill development and training, encourage contributions to the global WordPress project, policy contribution and foster collaborations with other stakeholders within Nepal’s IT ecosystem. The keynote will conclude with an inspiring call to action, urging attendees to actively participate in shaping the future of the WordPress community in Nepal and to collectively work towards realizing its full potential in driving digital transformation and innovation within the country.
